Paintball Operator Licence and Range Approval - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You will require this approval and licence if you intend to conduct games involving paintball markers for commercial purposes.

A paintball range is an area of land used for the purpose of conducting paintball games, before you can use the paintball range it must be approved by the Agency. Additionally, you must be a licensed operator of the paintball range, this licence may only be granted to corporations. As a licensed operator you may conduct your business of providing games involving paintball markers at the approved location. Please be aware your licensed corporation must nominate a person to be the operator of an approved range.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for the range approval you must:

  • Nominate a person to be the paintball range operator;
  • Ensure that the location, construction and equipment of the range are appropriate having regard to the need to protect people from death or injury and property from unlawful destruction or damage;
  • Be suitably qualified in the supervision or instructing of persons in the use of firearms; and
  • Pay all relevant application fees.

Please be aware that only corporations, other than a corporation that is a shooting club, may be licensed to operate an approved range.

Duration

2 years, starting on the day the approval is given to the operator.
