Work Health and Safety (How to Manage and Control Asbestos in the Workplace Code of Practice) Approval 2014 - Australian Capital Territory

You may be required to comply with this code if you operate a business. It is your responsibility to ensure that any work areas or buildings that contain asbestos are managed appropriately.

This code outlines the requirements a business operator must adhere to if their workers may come into contact with asbestos. It describes both:

  • Requirements and management plans for workplaces that may contain asbestos in the building; and
  • Strategies for workers that will come into direct contact with asbestos during their work (such as asbestos removalists).

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
