Work Health and Safety (Managing Noise and Preventing Hearing Loss at Work) Code of Practice 2011 - Australian Capital Territory

Description

You may be required to comply with this code if you intend to undertake a business operation where there is potential for employees to develop hearing loss from noise exposure. The code explains:

  • How noise can affect hearing;
  • How to identify and assess exposure to noise; and
  • How to control health and safety risks arising from hazardous noise.

It is an employer's responsibility to ensure that reasonable measures have been undertaken to prevent employee hearing loss. Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
