Application for Certificate of Survey - Australian Government

Description

You will need a certificate of survey if you work, construct or own a domestic commercial vessel. All domestic commercial vessels are required under Australian law to meet certain standards.

Certificate of survey is an accreditation that your vessel has been surveyed and meets the relevant standards that apply to your vessel.

Different standards apply to different vessels such as new vessels, existing vessels, heritage vessels and unpowered barge.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • complete any relevant forms and provide evidence required to support the application
  • pay any prescribed fees

Duration

If a certificate of survey does not specify a date on which it ceases to be in force, the certificate ceases to be in force 5 years after it comes into force.
