You will require this approval if you intend to offer aged care assessment services within the single assessment system and work for an approved organisation.
Assessor roles include:
- needs assessors (clinical and non-clinical)
- residential aged care (RAC) funding assessors.
Needs assessors use the Aged Care Assessment Manual to assess an older person's care requirements. Clinical needs assessors undertake comprehensive assessments and home support assessments, while non-clinical needs assessors only conduct home support assessments. RAC funding assessors use the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) to determine the amount of funding given to an aged care organisation for an older person's care.
