You may require this code if you intend apply for a refrigerant air-conditioning (RAC) industry permit.

A RAC industry permit means any of the following:

  • Refrigerant handling licence;
  • Refrigerant trading authorisation;
  • Equipment manufacturing authorisation;
  • Halon special permit; or
  • Restricted refrigerant trading authorisation.

To be eligible for a permit you must demonstrate your knowledge of any standard relevant to work to be carried out under your permit. You must carry out any work under a permit in accordance with the relevant standard. This standard sets out a method for

evaluating the thermodynamic performance of air-

conditioning systems on agricultural tractors and self-

propelled machines.
