You may be required to comply with this standard if you intend to design, install or operate a small generation unit. A small generation unit is a device that generates small amounts of electricity from hydro, wind or solar energy sources.
Renewable energy certificates (small-scale technology certificates) may be issued after a small generation unit is installed. For certificates to be issued, the small generation unit must meet certain conditions. One of these conditions is that, if the unit is an on-grid system, a written statement by the installer of the unit must be provided certifying that the installation complies with this standard.
This standard specifies the electrical installation requirements for inverter energy systems and grid protection devices with ratings up to 10kVA for single phase units, or up to 30kVA for three-phase units, for the injection of electric power through an electrical installation to the electricity distribution network.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
