You may be required to comply with this standard if you intend to design, install or operate a small generation unit. A small generation unit is a device that generates small amounts of electricity from hydro, wind or solar energy sources.
Renewable energy certificates (small-scale technology certificates) may be issued after a small generation unit is installed. For certificates to be issued, the small generation unit must meet certain conditions and guidelines.
This standard sets out guidelines for the protection of persons and property from hazards arising from exposure to lightning applicable to a wide range of structures and systems, including small generation units.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
