You will require this approval if you intend to operate as a billing agent to claim benefits from Medicare or private health funds on behalf of your patients.

Billing agents must be approved by Medicare and can be a fund, a hospital, an individual or an organisation.

  • include a copy of the Certificate of Incorporation
  • submit evidence of the establishment of a trust account or compartmentalised trust account to receive payments on behalf of others
  • submit search results from the Bankruptcy Register and the Disqualified Directors Register.
