Carriage, Stowage and Securing of Cargoes and Containers - Australian Government

You must comply with this code if you operate a regulated Australian vessel and intend to transport cargoes. This code gives effect to Part A of chapter VI of the International Convention of the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), which provides regulations for the carriage of cargoes which, owing to their particular hazards to ships or persons on board, may require special precautions.

The code requires that the master of a ship transporting specified cargoes must ensure that the ship carries an approved Cargo Securing Manual. All cargoes must be loaded, stowed and secured throughout a voyage in accordance with the manual.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
