Code on Noise Levels on Board Ships - Australian Government


You may be required to comply with this code if you are the commanding officer on a ship. The code only applies to ships that are of 1,600 tons gross tonnage and over.

This code was developed to stimulate and promote noise control at a national level within the framework of internationally agreed guidelines, and the recommendation on methods of measuring noise levels at listening posts. Please note that the Agency has advised that this code is called up in Marine Order 11 (Living and working conditions on vessels).
