Equipment - Lifesaving - Australian Government


You are required to comply with this code if you intend to operate a regulated Australian vessel, or a foreign vessel within Australian waters. This code gives effect to the International Life-Saving Appliance Code (LSA Code), which establishes the requirements for lifesaving equipment to be carried aboard ships. This code also contains further requirements applying to specific types of vessels, including chemical tankers, oil tankers or gas carriers.
