Feedstock Permit - Methyl Bromide - Australian Government

Description

You will require this permit if you intend to buy and use methyl bromide for the purposes of feedstock. Feedstock is an intermediate substance used to manufacture other chemicals.

The permit specifies:

  • Who you may purchase methyl bromide from, and in what amounts;
  • The maximum amount of methyl bromide you may use in a calendar year; and
  • What chemicals you are permitted to use methyl bromide to manufacture.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to receive this permit you must:

  • Be a fit and proper person;
  • Provide details on the amount of methyl bromide proposed to be used;
  • Provide an estimate of the methyl bromide emissions that will result from its use; and
  • Provide information on the intended suppliers of the methyl bromide.

There are ongoing record keeping and reporting requirements that must be adhered to.
