Food Standards Code - Australian Government

You may be required to comply with this Code if you are involved in the export of food or food products into or out of Australia.

This Code regulates the use of ingredients, processing aids, colourings, additives, vitamins and minerals and also labelling requirements for packaged and unpackaged food, e.g. country of origin labelling, specific mandatory warnings or advisory labels. The Code also covers the composition of some foods, e.g. dairy, meat and beverages as well as standards developed by new technologies such as genetically modified foods.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
