International Regulations For Preventing Collisions At Sea, 1972 - Australian Government


You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to navigate a ship or any other vessel on the high seas.

These rules do not apply to harbours, rivers, lakes or inland waterways. They are designed to ensure the safe use of the seas, and reduce collisions. The rules include provisions about action to avoid collision, narrow channels, and traffic separation schemes.
