Living and Working Conditions on Vessels - Australian Government


You are required to comply with this code if you intend to operate a regulated Australian vessel or a foreign vessel within Australian waters. This code establishes the standards for working and living on vessels, including:

  • minimum requirements for seafarers working on vessels
  • conditions of employment
  • accommodation and food and catering
  • health protection, medical care, welfare and social security protection
  • noise levels on board vessels.
