Marine Order 12 (Construction - Subdivision and Stability, Machinery and Electrical Installations) - Australian Government

Description

You are required to comply with this Marine Order if you intend to construct a regulated Australian vessel, or operate a regulated Australian vessel or foreign vessel within Australian waters. This Order gives effect to chapter II-1 of the International Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations which prescribes the standards for the construction of vessels including:

  • structure of ships
  • subdivision and stability
  • general machinery
  • electrical installations.

The Order also gives effect to the International Maritime Organisation's guidelines for the construction of Offshore Supply Vessels, which aims to promote safety of such vessels and their personnel.
