Marine Order 27 (Safety of Navigation and Radio Equipment) - Australian Government

Description

You are required to comply with this Marine Order if you intend to operate a regulated Australian vessel, or a foreign vessel within Australian waters. This Order establishes the requirements for:

  • navigation safety measures and equipment
  • radio equipment
  • danger, urgency and distress signals and messages.
This Order also gives effect to various aspects of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea including:
  • Chapter IV (Radiocommunications)
  • Chapter V (Safety of navigation).
