Description

You must comply with this code if you intend to operate a vessel in Australian territorial waters.

This code incorporates the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and Marine Order 94 and is a uniform international code for the transport of dangerous goods or hazardous materials by sea.The code sets:

  • Basic principles;
  • Recommendations for individual substances;
  • Guidelines for materials and articles; and
  • Recommendations for good operation practice, including advice on terminology, packing, labelling, stowage, segregation and handling, and emergency response action.
