National Code of Practice for the Labelling of Workplace Substances [NOHSC: 2012 (1994)] - Australian Government

You are required to comply with this code if you are a manufacture or importer of hazardous substances. You must determine whether any substance you supply is hazardous. However, both suppliers and employers have responsibilities to ensure that workplace hazardous substances are appropriately labelled.

The aim of this code is to provide practical guidance on meeting the requirements for the labelling of hazardous substances used at work under the National Model Regulations for the Control of Workplace Hazardous Substances [NOHSC:1005(1994)]. A label is defined as any information on a container which identifies the substance in the container and provides basic information about its safe use and handling.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance that may be required.
