Seafarers Safety Net Fund Levy - Australian Government

Description

You are required to register for this levy if you intend to employ or engage seafarers on ships involved in coastal trade or commerce in Australian waters.

Levy on seafarer berths is payable by all employers of staff or contractors on all prescribed ships, for the purpose of establishing a workers' compensation and rehabilitation scheme for seafarers.

You will be required to lodge a Berths and Levy Return if you are an employer of seafarers at the beginning of each quarter.
