You will require this licence if you intend to use a particular kind of launch vehicle connected to:
- Operating of a launch facility in Australia; or
- Undertaking any activities directly connected with operating a launch facility in Australia.
A launch vehicle is a vehicle that can carry a payload into or back from an area beyond the distance of 100 km above mean sea level. A launch facility is a facility or place specifically designed or constructed as a place from which space objects can be launched.
A space licence is approval that a minister may grant to a person operate a launch facility in Australia; or undertake any activities directly connected with operating a launch facility.
