You will require this permit if you intend to import or export animals or plants. The wildlife trade permit allows you to import or export:
- species listed on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) species
- Australian native species.
Activities covered include:
- the export of Australian native plants and animals (including pets, wildlife, insects and shells) or products derived from threatened Australian native animals and plants and exotic species
- the import of species (including plants, and pets and animals for zoos, wildlife parks or travelling exhibitions) listed on CITES as threatened, and products derived from threatened species.
A Multiple Consignment Authority permits you to import or export an unlimited number of consignments of a particular range of specimens.
