A podiatrist is a person registered or licensed to practise podiatry under a law of a State or Territory that provides for the registration or licensing of podiatrists. Podiatry is the branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the human foot. Services provided by an accredited podiatrist may be covered by Medicare benefits.
