Approval of a Ballast Water Management Plan for an Australian Vessel - Australian Government

Description

You will require this approval if you intend to develop a ballast water management plan for your vessel. Ballast water is port water that is taken up by ships. It may be held in tanks on board to improve stability and maneuverability during transit. This water may contain pests.

A ballast water management plan is a document that deals with ballast water management and the disposal of sediments from the vessel's ballast water. Once you have been approved you will be issued with a ballast management certificate that certifies that your vessel has a ballast water management plan that has been approved.
