You will be required to comply with one of these standards if you operate a pilot launch.
A pilot launch is a vessel that is transferring a pilot to or from a ship for the purpose of piloting.
A pilot or crew member working on the deck of a pilot launch must be provided with a personal flotation device that meets the requirements of any of the following National Standards:
- Australian Standard AS 4758
- ISO 12402-1
- European Standard EN399-1993 Lifejackets-275N
- European Standard EN396-1993 Lifejackets-150N
- New Zealand Standards NZ5823:2005 Type 401.
