Australian Standard AS 1735.1:2016 Australian Standard for Lifts, Escalators and Moving Walks - Australian Government

Description

You will be required to comply with this standard if you operate a ship registered in Australia, or any ship in the territorial sea of Australia that uses a lift, escalator or moving walk.

Please note that this standard applies subject to certain modifications in the Marine Orders - Part 12. In the case of ships built overseas, it is sufficient if the lifts comply with an alternative national standard acceptable to the agency.

All tests required by the standard must be performed and witnessed by a surveyor from the agency before the lift is put into the service.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
