You will be required to comply with this standard if you intend to operate a ship as an off-shore supply vessel.
An offshore supply vessel is a vessel that is:
- Primarily engaged in the transport of stores, materials and equipment to offshore installations; and
- Designed with the accommodation and bridge erections in the forward part of the vessel and an exposed cargo deck in the after part for the handling of cargo at sea.
If a ship is operated as an offshore supply vessel it must meet certain requirements, including:
- The requirements in Part 2 and 3 of the Guidelines; and
- An opening in a watertight bulkhead one or both sides of which may be subjected to flooding under the assumptions of 3.2 of the Guidelines must be fitted with a sliding watertight door.
Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
