Marine Order 17 (Chemical tankers and gas carriers) - Australian Government

You must comply with this code if you intend to operate or construct a ship for the transport of liquefied gases in bulk by sea.

Liquefied gases in bulk must not be loaded onto, or unloaded from, a ship constructed after 1 July 1986 unless it is compliant with this code.

This code provides an international standard for the safe carriage by sea of liquefied gases (and other substances listed in the Code) in bulk.

Please note that this code may also be referred to as the IGC code.

Please consult the Contact Officer for more information and to ascertain the level of compliance (if any) that may be required.
