You will require this licence and the relevant trading credits if you intend to discharge saline water into the Hunter River catchment.
You are considered to hold a Discharge Licence if you undertake activities authorised by an Environment Protection Licence. However, you may not discharge saline water into the Hunter River catchment unless you also hold the relevant discharge credits. These credits authorise you to discharge a certain amount of saline water into the catchment system at a specified time. Credits can be traded with other licence holders.
As this licensing regime is complicated, please consult the Contact Officer for further information before making your application.
