Occupier's Licence - Fauna - New South Wales

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to harm fauna on land that you either own or occupy. This licence can authorise you, or a person that holds a General Licence - Protected Fauna or a Commercial Fauna Harvester's Licence, to harm and dispose of (whether by sale or otherwise) fauna on your lands. Fauna are animals, including any mammal, bird, reptile or amphibian.

Harming an animal includes hunting, shooting, poisoning, netting, snaring, spearing, pursuing, capturing, trapping, injuring or killing it, but does not include harm caused by changing the habitat of the animal.

Please note that the licence will only authorise the harming of a set amount and type of fauna. As part of the conditions of this licence you may be supplied with labels, tags, slips or other objects to be attached to the animal carcasses.

You are encouraged to call the Contact Officer prior to lodging an application to discuss the nature and severity of the issue and any non-lethal measures that can be implemented to mitigate the problem.
