Biodiversity Conservation Licence (Whole Plant) - New South Wales

Description

You will require this licence if you intend to pick and sell whole protected plants. There are four types of Biodiversity Conservation Licence that may be issued depending on how you harvest your protected plants:

  • Wild Harvester Licence - allows a person or company to pick protected native plants from naturally occurring stands on property they own.
  • Approved Harvester Licence - allows a person or company to pick protected native plants from naturally occurring plants on an approved site on someone else's, including a State Forest. Under this licence two types of harvest may be undertaken - sustainable harvest and salvage harvest.
  • Seed Harvester Licence - allows a person to pick and sell seed or spores, excluding threatened species.
  • Grower Licence - enables a person or company to grow protected and threatened native plants for sale from artificially cultivated stock.

No matter what type of biodiversity conservation licence you are applying for, you will need to read and be sure you can comply with all general conditions. There are also conditions specific to each licence type.
