Load Line Certificate - New South Wales


You may require this certificate if you intend to operate a ship, other than fishing vessel, which is over 24 meters in length.

A Class 1A, Class 1B, Class 1C and Class 2 vessel which is over 24 metres long must not be operated without a load line certificate.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this certificate, your vessel must:

  • comply with the requirements of section 7 of the Uniform Shipping Laws Code in relation to weather tight and watertight integrity and the marking of load lines and associated marks
  • be inspected by a surveyor appointed by the Maritime Authority to ensure compliance with those requirements.
