Permit to Transport Diseased Livestock - New South Wales

You will require this permit if you are the owner or person in charge of stock and intend to move stock on public land that is:

  • under quarantine
  • diseased
  • suspected of having a disease (i.e. stock being vaccinated against disease).

Stock includes horses, cattle, asses, mules, camels, sheep, pigs, goats, birds or any bird eggs. Types of disease in livestock include zoonoses, foot and mouth disease and avian influenza.

The movement of stock in NSW is restricted to ensure stock activity can be monitored, to minimise the spread of disease and to protect the rights of a potential buyer of the stock.
