Permit for Powerhead for Protection from Shark Attack - New South Wales


You may require this permit if you intend to use a powerhead for the purpose of protecting yourself or another person against shark attack. A powerhead is a device that is capable of propelling a projectile by means of an explosive that is designed to be attached to the end of a spear gun for use in underwater spear fishing.

This permit is usually only issued to people who, in the course of their business or employment, are reasonably likely to need to protect themselves or other people against shark attack.

To be eligible for this permit you must provide evidence that because of the activities you engage in in the course of your business or employment it is reasonably likely that you will need to protect yourself or someone else against shark attack.

Businesses, clubs or other organisations must supply their ABN, ACN, and business registration certificate and public liability insurance documentation.
