Recognised Service Facilities - New South Wales

Description

You will require this approval if you intend to operate as a recognised service facility dealing with explosion protected diesel engine systems that are used in underground coal mines.

It is a condition of registration of diesel engine systems (DES) as an item of plant is that the DES be inspected, maintained and tested according to guidelines published by the Agency. One of these guidelines requires that any explosion protected DES, Code D examination or Ex repair must be carried out by a recognised service facility.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this approval you must:

  • Be accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities Australia (NATA) or another appropriate body accredited with the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ);
  • Provide any information required by the Agency;
  • Complete the relevant form; and
  • Pay any required fees.
