Registration of a Bookmaker (Greyhound Racing) - New South Wales

Description

You will require this registration if you are an individual or proprietary company and intend to operate as a bookmaker at greyhound race meetings in NSW. A bookmaker provides wagering services to the general public at race courses. They take bets or wagers on behalf of racing punters and issue winnings.

If you intend to register a proprietary company, the Agency will need to be satisfied you're your company is an eligible company.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this registration you must:

  • submit the application in the approved form
  • pay the required fees
  • pay the cash deposit or bond determined by the Agency
  • supply evidence of character, fitness and experience
  • if applying as a company, supply requested evidence so the Agency can determine if you are an eligible company
  • if applying as an individual, be 18 years old or older.
