This licence is required to carry on a noxious trade. A noxious trade includes any trade or occupation which, unless preventative measures are adopted, may become a nuisance to the health of the public. Examples include abattoirs; bone mills or bone
manure depots; chemical works; cleaning establishments; dye works; fat rendering works; fish curing establishments; flock factories; glue factories; laundries; manure works; marine stores; piggeries; places for the storing, drying or preserving of bones,
hides, horns, hoofs or skins; soap or candle works or factories; tripe boiling establishments; battery manufacturing; works for boiling down meat, bones, blood or offal or any trade which causes offensive fumes or discharges foul liquids.
