Handbills Permit - City of Darwin - Northern Territory


You will need this permit if you intend to affix handbills or posters to buildings, sign posts, power poles or other structures in a public place. This permit is also needed if you intend to distribute handbills.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • not display handbills or posters until you have approval or permission of the owner or occupier of a building
  • not place outside similar businesses
  • not affix to power pole, signpost or fixture in the street.
