Licence to Possess a Radiation Source - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to manufacture, sell, acquire, possess, use, store, transport, dispose of, or otherwise deal with a radiation source. Registered diagnostic radiographers are taken to have a licence to use or possess a source for practising radiography.

You will require this licence before you can register a radiation source. You must also have a radiation protection plan approved.

A radiation protection plan must contain the following information:

  • full name and address of the owner of the source
  • full name and address of the licensee
  • licensee's qualifications and experience
  • nature of the source
  • description of the source and its uses
  • full name of the occupier and it's exact location
  • information regarding safe disposal of the source when its no longer useful.
