Occupation Licence - Northern Territory

Description

You will need this licence if you intend to occupy Crown lands.

Occupying Crown land means that you can use the Crown land for a specified purpose, this includes a range of activities such as:

  • grazing of stock
  • erection of a building
  • bird watching
  • bush walking
  • installation of pipes
  • beekeeping
  • coastal protection works.

A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Commencement

An occupation licence shall commence on the day it is issued.

Duration

Not exceeding 5 years.
