You may require this permit if you intend to import plants, plant products or associated material and equipment. These items may present the risk of introducing new pest and diseases into the Northern Territory.
There are three types of licences available:
- Plants and plant products - you will require this licence if you intend to import any plants and plant products. This may include parts of plants other than seeds, pulp or dried material, and samples to be submitted for diagnostic or laboratory testing.
- Soil, compost and potting mix - you will require this licence if you intend to import soil, compost and potting mix, unless it is prepared under the relevant Australian standard.
- Machinery, equipment and other plant related material - you will require this licence if you intend to import agricultural or earth moving equipment.
The importer must be the person listed on the application form. They must also include location details.
