This service is to advise on regulatory provisions under the Nature Conservation Act 1992, the Nature Conservation (Administration) Regulation 2006 and the Nature Conservation (Protected Areas Management) Regulation 2006 for national parks and for parties interested in the use of national parks.
The Department provides advice on regulatory provisions of the Nature Conservation Act. Under the Act, a range of activities are managed, including commercial and recreational activities on National Parks. Additionally, management plans for parks are required and the community as well as business are invited to make submissions on those plans.
Advice given may include whether a permit is required for an activity or whether a park has an existing or proposed plan covering it. Advice may also be given by key regional staff who can also assist in giving details on approved uses and access.
