Advice to Firearm Dealers, Theatrical Ordnance Supplier and Collectors, Ranges (Paintball and Pistol) - Queensland


This advice is provided to ensure community safety by maintaining safe and secure business premises for the sale of firearms.

The Queensland Police Service provides advice to existing firearm dealers and new licence applicants on legislative security requirements.

More specific advice available includes:

  • advice on specifications required with respect to security of weapons and security of premises.
  • information on initial inspection of the premises. Additional inspections can be arranged at any time upon request from the weapons dealer. During the inspection dealers are made aware of any additional security requirements and advice can also be provided on types of gun racks, safes and alarm systems suitable for the premises and type of business.
  • advice on application forms for a dealership licence and other relevant documentation required to set up a new business or transfer of licences to new dealership owners.
