Advice to Minerals & Petroleum Sectors - Environmental - Queensland


This service is provided to ensure that development of the State's mineral and petroleum resources is conducted in an environmentally responsible manner.

The Department of Environment and Science (DES) provides advice to the mining sector on applying for environmental authorities and preparing documentation including EMP (Environmental Management Plan), EIS (Environmental Impact Studies), Plans of Operations, audit statements, and final rehabilitation reports.

DES also provides advice to industry on environmental policies, standards and criteria as well as publishing technical guidelines on environmental management.

Applications are made directly to the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy.
