Approval to conduct a shooting gallery - Queensland

Description

You will need this approval if you intend to conduct a shooting gallery. Shooting galleries consist of areas where live ammunition is used and the firearm is mounted so that the barrel must remain within the confines of the gallery, except in the case of paintball.

The types of shooting galleries that may be permitted by this approval are:

  • paint pellet shooting galleries
  • fixed indoor or outdoor shooting galleries
  • mobile shooting galleries.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a fit and proper person with specific reference to mental state, misuse of drugs and firearm offences involving violence or threatened violence
  • have completed the safety training course within the preceding 12 months
  • provide all details relevant to the type of shooting gallery you are applying for.
