Approval to use local government areas and roads - Cairns Regional Council - Queensland

Description

You will require this approval if you intend to undertake activities on local government roads and areas. Local government areas include parks, reserves, foreshores, bathing reserves, and council controlled venues. Examples of these activities include but are not limited to:

  • sport and recreational events or competitions (including commercial skate events)
  • weddings
  • special events (e.g. fair, fete, markets or functions)
  • concerts
  • promotions
  • conferences
  • training
  • filming and photography
  • circuses
  • horse / camel / pony rides
  • equipment hire (including aquatic equipment).

If you require a Development Permit and receive approval for your activities on council land under this permit, you do not need to obtain council approval.
