The Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) Commissioner may give a person a notice requiring information concerning any dangerous goods. The commissioner may by notice in writing require a person, within the time specified in the notice, to prepare and lodge an off site emergency plan relating to those dangerous goods.
Advice is given to assist businesses understand the requirements for developing an off site plan. An inspection can be arranged of the site where dangerous goods are stored or processed. The Department can also assist the business in preparing the off site plan for a fee or, alternatively, refer the business to qualified private consultants.
