National standard for the Australian builders plate for recreational boats - Queensland

Description

You will need to comply with this standard if you intend to build or import most types of recreational boats.

This standard establishes the requirements for the uniform display of information to be exhibited on the Australian builders plate (ABP), and the design and construction standards to be used in determining that information.

Recreational boats this standard does not apply to include:

  • a second-hand ship
  • an amphibious vehicle
  • a canoe, kayak, surf ski or similar ship designed to be powered by paddle
  • a pedal-powered boat
  • a rowing shell used for racing or rowing training
  • a sailboard, sail kite or other similar ship
  • a surf row boat
  • a hydrofoil or hovercraft
  • a sailing ship
  • a submersible
  • an aquatic toy.
