This support service is provided to assist Granite Belt apple producers in the integrated management of Apple Black Spot.

What Support is Provided?

The Department, via the media and a facsimile/email subscription service, provides a disease and insect pest warning service for apple growers. This information is obtained from a Black Spot predictor system that can predict disease and infestations from weather conditions.

The Apple Black Spot Pest and Disease Early Warning Service is provided to apple growers from September to early November each year. Emails are sent to existing apple growers although any new growers can contact the Applethorpe office to subscribe.
